Feminine Fragments
Narelle Delle Baite 2019
Photographic Portraits of Women exploring the interpretations of the contemporary woman. Drawing influence from surrealists and feminist artists such as Lenora Carrington, Rene Magritte and Judith Chicago. This series highlights the absurdity of the unrealistic and artificial standards of female beauty promoted relentlessly to females. Employing beauty to distort the human female form is aggressive to the female identity. The metaphorical narrative underlying this image considers the perversion of beauty in the 21st century and the rejection and disfiguration of females natural beauty.
